Questions people ask
What does a good GAMSAT Section 2 essay look like?
It takes a clear position on a theme drawn from the prompts, supports it with specific, analysed examples, engages the opposing view and ends on an insight. It reads as one connected argument or reflection, not a tour of the quotes.
What is the difference between Task A and Task B?
ACER describes Task A as a response to socio-cultural issues and Task B as a response to more personal and social issues. Task B suits a more reflective voice.
Should I discuss every quote in the prompt?
No. The prompts are a starting point. Choose a theme and argue it well; a paragraph per quote tends to summarise rather than argue.

How we work this out
What it does
Compare drafts with their revisions and see which choices sharpen the argument, the reflection and the structure.
GAMSAT Section 2 (Written Communication): Task A on socio-cultural issues and Task B on personal and social issues. Every prompt, draft and revision is original.
Method
- Each question shows a draft and asks which revision does the job better, with a note on every choice.
- Choices are judged against what ACER says it assesses: the quality of thinking about the topic and the control of language.
